Yesterday (August 4), British actor Rowan Atkinson, who is famous for playing the character of “Mr. Bean,” was involved in a new car crash in Cambridgeshire.
The 56-year-old Rowan Atkinson was driving a McLaren F1 super car when it spun around several times, ran into a tree and a lamppost and caught fire.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed: “We attended the scene of a single vehicle RTA earlier this evening and took a man with minor injuries to hospital.”
One onlooker said: “Rowan is lucky to be alive.”
The front of the car was wrecked in the previous collision with the rear of a Rover Metro in Lancashire, in October 1999.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Azure, Ferrari F430, Aston Martin Rapide, Porsche 911. For numerous of us, these cars are part of our “fantasy garages.” Unluckily, it’s also a list of cars that are limping this week after being involved in a multi-car accident in Monaco. So, some French lady has succeeded in doing the unthinkable: crashing her expensive Bentley into an Aston Martin Rapide, Porsche 911, Ferrari F430 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class in front of the Casino in Monaco.
American company Hinson Motorsports attempted to break its own record for the standing mile in a Corvette Z06 last weekend at the Texas Mile.
FYI, that record was 360km/h. They tried to go for a 370km/h+ run when something went horribly wrong. Their modified Corvette -- packing a faintly ludicrous 1296kW -- got airborne into its record-breaking attempt and came to a rest. Violently.
Using whatever luck was left in the universe, the driver managed to walk away unharmed, still unsure how he flipped dramatically. Watch the video below and then ask yourselves… how?
Steffen Korbach’s Pagani Zonda F Clubsport Roadster crumpled after he lost control on a wet road and smashed it into a barrier.
The Zonda – one of just 25 in existance – was left a mangled wreck with debris from the 7.3-litre supercar strewn over the motorway.
However, Mr Korbach – and his 21-year-old passenger – emerged with just minor bruising.
German investment banker Mr Korbach, 28, lost control of his vehicle on the A10 Autostrada in Italy.
A source said Mr Korbach, who had been driving within the speed limit through an area of roadworks, was considering getting the car repaired.
The Zonda F Clubsport Roadster he was driving is rated as one the greatest modern day supercars with Top Gear host Richard Hammond a massive fan.
At £1.4million, it’s one of the world’s most expensive new cars with only the £1.5 million Koenigsegg CCXR and £1.6 million Bugatti Veyron Super Sport costlier.
But neither the Koenigsegg nor Bugatti are believed to have ever been written off in a crash.
The Italian Zonda, with its rear-mounted V12 engine, produces 650bhp and is capable of doing 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 214mph.
